Study 2: The Health FoundationThe Health Foundation recently moved from their Cavendish Square premises to new offices near to Covent Garden.
The Health Foundation contacted Arc to work with them from the ground up to specify, design and deliver a sector leading Audio Visual Boardroom, a meeting facility and a multipoint display facility, whilst working to tight budgets and strict timescales.
One
of the main points of the delivered solution was the ‘future-proofing
/ upgrade-ability’ of the system. As with most charities, funds are
not always as plentiful as in a commercial business so, Arc adopted a phased
approach to the solution.
The project consisted of a Boardroom facility comprising of a Sanyo LCD Projector, front projected onto an electric screen that is recessed into the suspended ceiling, networked PC, multiple Laptop points, DVD, VCR and TV over CAT5. A Lectern Microphone provides Voice Reinforcement through 8 ceiling speakers and a Crestron Control System automates the facility and controls zoned lighting and window blinds.
The room is partitioned in a 70/30 ratio and the design allows for the facility to include ceiling speakers, lighting and window blinds in the smaller room to be included, seamlessly, into the main room when the partition is opened. When the partition is closed the room’s function independently with the lighting, window blinds operating from local wall panels and ceiling speaker audio being muted from the rear room.
An
AV reinforcement position was installed into which a mobile Plasma Screen
Display, for use when theatre style seating is employed, can be connected.
This allows for easy viewing from the rear of the room and displays identical
media to the main projection screen.
The mobile Plasma solution can be used in a number of key locations within the office space to allow for formal and informal meeting styles with varying numbers of attendees.
The smaller meeting room provides space for approximately 6-8 persons in which the Plasma Screen provides a display for both Laptop presentations and also TV over CAT5. (Ideal for small formal meetings)
The Breakout & Staff rest areas have informal seating for approximately 16-20 persons which can utilise the Plasma Screen facilities for promotional and informal meetings / discussions and TV and Video over CAT5.
The client also has an AV over Cat5/6 solution which provides an Audio and Video feed that includes Digital Terrestrial TV and Sky Satellite TV to multiple points around their office and also to key staff members PC workstations allowing them to have access to news at their desktop when it happens.
The distribution system comprises of a 3 Satellite receivers, 5 Digital Terrestrial TV receivers coupled together with a MediaStar distribution hub and 6 remote end points, expandable to 64.
To add additional flexibility for the future expansion and upgrading of the facilities the system design was such that Videoconferencing and Audio Conferencing can be added with minimal works and at a substantial cost advantage to the client.
Arc provided a full after sales Support and Maintenance contract that protects the clients’ major investment and facility, which is heavily used by both management and staff alike.
